So close! It went down to the last relays….Langley won more than half the individual events AND half the relays…..and in the end, there were just two points difference…very exciting!

8 & under girls’ free relay breaks 40 year old record!

The Langley Wildthings lost to the Cardinal Hill Cardinals 183-219
but we…
had a whopping 70% of swimmers go their best times
won almost half the events and
broke three team records

Nathan Johnson broke the 9-10 boys backstroke record with a time of 38.40.
Nicole Johnson, broke the 13-14 girls’ breaststroke record with a time of 36.83.
The 15-18 girls medley relay team of
Meghan Overend, Nicole Johnson, Tracy DeMocker and Sarah Woodford
broke the 1987 15-18 girls medley relay record by more than three seconds with a time of 2:16.37!!

Langley hosted Villa Aquatic on Saturday in the first rainy meet of the season
but lost in a meet that was closer than the final score indicates.
The teams were tied going into the last event, but the
visitors managed to dominate the butterfly and take the meet.

Nate Johnson breaks first record of the year

At Langley, June 30

The Wildthings braved the heat and swam at Dunn Loring on Saturday but the
Dolphins kept command of their own pool and managed to hold off their visitors.
Despite the loss, the Wildthings still won almost half the individual races (17/38)
and almost half the relay races (5/12). Great job Wildthings!

The NVSL Season opened with the Langley Wildthings losing to Mansion House. But the Wildthings were out in force with great spirit and more than 2/3 of swims clocked best times!

Nathan Johnson broke the 9-10 Age Group backstroke swim record set in 2005. Nathan, our 1st 2008 pool record breaker swam a speedy 38.72! Congratulations!
