Strong Season Finish for Wildthings at Divisionals
6 Records Broken
15 Swimmers Qualify for All-Stars in 25 Events!


Wildthings were on fire at divisionals.
Sixty of 98 swims were best times for the whole summer!!
Twenty nine of those were more than one second faster and
11 of them were more than two seconds faster!!
Everyone swam fantastically!!!
Congratulations to all divisionals swimmers for a great meet!

Wildthings broke six records in the meet:

Isaac Peress broke a 45 year old record belonging to
Hess Yntema in the backstroke, with a time of 19.28.
Nathan Robinson broke the 9-10 record in the IM,
with a time of 1:26.04.
Katie Robinson broke the 9-10 record in the backstroke,
with a time of 41.16.
Nicole Johnson broke her own record in the 11-12 breaststroke with a time of 37.64.
Meghan Overend broke a 40 year old record belonging to Sally Harvey in the 13-14 fly, with a time of 31.90.
Jamie Sexton broke his own record in the
15-18 breaststroke, with a time of 32.40.

What a Season!!!

In the final dual meet of the season, the second-seeded Wildthings took on the top-seeded Cardinal Hill Cardinals and won in a close meet that went down to the final relays. Wildthings swimmers were on fire, clocking many best times and winning against swimmers with better previous times! What a way to end the season!!
Wildthings are awesome!!!


On Wednesday night at All-Star relays, the Wildthings fielded six relay teams and the team took 15th in the League. Both of the 8 & under boys relays took first in the NVSL! This has got to be a first in Langley history. The modified medley relay of Zach Johnson, Jay Goettman, Christian Markwart and Isaac Peress won the league title with a time of 1:21.08, and the team of Christian Markwart, Jason Stranne, Zach Johnson and Isaac Peress took another first in the free relay with a time of 1:13.17.

Also at All-Stars, two Wildthings teams set new Langley records. The team of Katie Robinson, Caroline Klinedinst, Alexandra Cramer and Jacqueline Litschewski set a new mark with their time in the 9-10 girls’ medley relay of 1:14.72 and the same team also broke the record in the free relay with a time of 1:05.98.

Third Straight Win for Wildthings
Langley over Sideburn Run

In the fourth dual meet of the season, The Wildthings moved to a
3-1 record with a solid win over the Sideburn Sharks.
Nicole Johnson broke her own record, set the week before,
with a time of 38.62 in the 11-12 breast stroke.
On Wednesday night, the Wildthings took first at the Division 5
relay carnival. Eight teams took first in their events.
Six teams qualified for Relay All Stars. The 8& under boys’ free
relay is seeded first in the league!

Wildthings Win over the Dolphins

Nicole Johnson Breaks First Record of the Year!

In the third meet of the dual meet season, the Wildthings hosted the Dowden Terrace Dolphins. The Wildthings dominated the meet from the start, with outstanding strength in the younger age groups. The 8 & under girls swept all of their events. The team won 9 of 12 relays and everyone who came out to swim made an outstanding contribution.

In an exciting race for the 11-12 girls’ breaststroke win, Nicole Johnson dropped more than a second off her best time to break a 20 year old record. Nicole swam a 39.07.
Way to go Nicole!

Commonwealth Barracudas 222-180

The Wildthings hit their stride for the second meet, and easily swept away the ‘Cudas. Despite missing a number of swimmers, the Wildthings won 25 of 38 events and half the swims were best times.

Wildthings Lose First Meet to High Point
In Close Competition 203-199

The NVSL Season opened with the Langley Wildthings losing to local competitors at High Point Pool by only four points. In an exciting meet that went down to the very last relay, the Wildthings were out in force with great spirit and great performances. Three-quarters of the swims were best times for Langley swimmers. The Wildthings won 21 of 38 events. Unfortunately, this was not quite enough to hold off the High Point swimmers.
